Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for Yellow VPN

Effective Date: October 3, 2026

Yellow VPN ("we", "our", or "the extension") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the Yellow VPN Chrome extension and how that information is used.

1. Information We Collect

Yellow VPN does not require users to create an account and does not intentionally collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, home address, phone number, or identification numbers.

The extension may process your public IP address when checking whether a proxy connection is active and displaying the current public IP address inside the extension.

Because an IP address may provide approximate location information, it may be considered location-related data.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Yellow VPN does not intentionally collect or store:

  • Names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information

  • Health information

  • Financial or payment information

  • User passwords or personal account credentials

  • Emails, messages, or other personal communications

  • Browsing history

  • Keystrokes, mouse movements, or similar user activity

  • Content from websites you visit, such as text, images, videos, or files

3. Public IP Address

Yellow VPN may contact an external IP-check service to determine the public IP address being used by Chrome.

This functionality is used to:

  • Display the current public IP address

  • Help users verify whether their proxy connection has changed

  • Provide connection-related information inside the extension

The IP-check service may independently receive technical information, including your IP address, when a request is made to that service. Its handling of such information is subject to that service provider's own privacy practices.

4. Proxy Connections

When Yellow VPN is enabled, Chrome browser traffic may be routed through the proxy server selected by the user.

Proxy servers inherently receive network requests necessary to provide the proxy service. The handling of information by the underlying proxy infrastructure may therefore be subject to the privacy practices and policies of the proxy service provider.

Yellow VPN itself does not intentionally maintain a history of websites visited through the extension.

5. Local Storage

Yellow VPN may use Chrome's local extension storage to save information necessary for its functionality, such as:

  • Selected proxy server or location

  • Connection state

  • Kill Switch preference

  • Extension configuration and preferences

This information is used to maintain extension functionality and user preferences. It is not used to build advertising profiles.

6. Kill Switch

Yellow VPN may provide an optional browser-level Kill Switch.

When enabled, the extension may use Chrome network request controls to block new website requests if the configured proxy is disconnected or encounters certain connection errors.

The Kill Switch is designed for Chrome browser traffic only. It is not a system-wide firewall or operating-system VPN.

7. How We Use Information

Any information processed by Yellow VPN is used only to provide and maintain the extension's functionality, including:

  • Establishing proxy connections

  • Switching proxy locations

  • Authenticating with configured proxy infrastructure

  • Checking and displaying the public IP address

  • Maintaining extension preferences

  • Providing the optional Kill Switch

Yellow VPN does not sell users' personal data.

8. Data Sharing

Yellow VPN does not sell or rent user data to advertisers or data brokers.

Information may be transmitted to third-party services only when necessary to provide the extension's functionality, such as proxy infrastructure and the service used to check the user's public IP address.

These third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

9. Permissions

Yellow VPN may request Chrome permissions including proxy, storage, webRequest, webRequestAuthProvider, declarativeNetRequest, and necessary host permissions.

These permissions are used only where required to provide proxy connections, proxy authentication, connection handling, saved preferences, public IP checking, and the optional browser Kill Switch.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to minimize unnecessary collection and exposure of user information. Yellow VPN is designed to request and process only information required for its stated functionality.

No method of transmitting information over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Children's Privacy

Yellow VPN is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the extension's functionality, data practices, or legal requirements change.

Any updated version will include a revised effective date. Users are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
